#930 Cincinnati Reds (Martinez) +110 over Seattle Mariners (Miller) 5:40 PM CT

The Reds have won four in a row and six of the past seven with a lineup that has now scored 28 runs in the past five games. Cincinnati had nearly twice as many at-bats with runners in scoring position as the Mariners last night in a game where both teams needed significant bullpen support. Nick Martinez has been an effective MLB pitcher since returning from Japan and while his ERA is 6.06 three starts into 2025, he has a nearly 4:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and  so far has been burned by a home run rate that is twice as high as he had last season for the Reds. Seattle does have some home run potential, but the Mariners have not won a road game yet this season, going 0-4 on the road through a home-heavy first two weeks of the season. Three starts into 2025 Bryce Miller has his lowest K/9 and highest BB/9 so far in his young career and in contrast to Martinez, Miller has a current HR/9 that is half of his career average. Miller’s solid career numbers are built on a 2.73 ERA at home as he owns a 4.60 ERA in his road starts. Cincinnati’s bullpen has much stronger splits than Seattle in the past 10 games including a 2.70 ERA with a 0.90 WHIP and the Reds are appealing at this price in what can be a difficult pitching venue for inexperienced starters, with this being just the second outing at the Great American Ballpark for Miller, who allowed seven hits in five innings in his only other start in Cincinnati.
