The last meeting between these teams was in Germany back in 2022. Seattle has won three straight games this season since losing a close season opener at home, and Sam Darnold has proven to be a nice addition so far with excellent results to lead the offense. Seattle played on Thursday last week while the Buccaneers hosted the defending Super Bowl champions Sunday afternoon before this long trip west. A win this week would provide a big boost for Seattle in the NFC West race with the Rams already losing in Week 5 and the Seahawks looking to keep pace with the 49ers team they lost to in Week 1. The Buccaneers slipped to 3-1 last week as well after three narrow wins, a comeback bid against the Eagles did not quite get there. The box score from that game did not match the scoreboard as Tampa Bay was productive, but most of the yardage came after a 24-6 deficit at halftime. Seattle has gone just 3-7 ATS at home for Mike Macdonald while the Buccaneers are 15-5 ATS since 2023 in road games. Tampa Bay is also 15-8 ATS as an underdog since 2023. Both teams are top 5 defenses in yards per play this season and an even game can be expected even as Tampa Bay works through some injuries and Seattle is in a more favorable extended turnaround from last week.
