#384 Auburn -10.5 over Kentucky 6:30 PM CT

Auburn finally got in the win column in SEC play, winning 33-24 at Arkansas last week. The 1-4 start for the Tigers includes great defensive performances including allowing 24 or fewer points in all five SEC games despite facing elite competition in most of those games. Auburn has struggled on offense, but Hugh Freeze has made it clear that he could move away from Jackson Arnold at quarterback to offer Auburn a better mix on offense with Ashton Daniels contributing last week. Auburn runs the ball well and doesn’t need elite quarterback play as the defense is one of the better units in the SEC and is fourth nationally allowing just 2.4 yards per rush. Auburn is just 4-4 right now but the Tigers can still reach 6-6 but this week’s game is likely to provide the pivotal swing in that quest as Auburn still will face Vanderbilt and Alabama in November. Kentucky has lost all five SEC games and while there have been a few competitive home games vs. quality teams, last week the Wildcats couldn’t compete defensively, allowing 56 points in a huge home game vs. Tennessee, while coming off the tough loss hosting Texas two weeks ago. Now back on the road where the Wildcats are 0-2 while outscored 70-27, it may be difficult to get this group in a winning mindset, with rumors around Mark Stoops and a coaching departure growing. Cutter Boley is just a freshman that was tossed into the quarterback spot after Zach Calzada’s injury and while he played well last week, he had three interceptions while taking eight sacks in his two road games. Kentucky has managed just 3.1 yards per rush the past three games to offer little support while the run defense for the Wildcats hasn’t matched the typical success Stoops teams have had as Kentucky has allowed 5.9 yards per rush the past three games in the heart of the SEC season. Auburn played even statistical games with Oklahoma, Georgia, and Missouri and last week’s win was the breakthrough this team needed to have confidence in this favorable home date looking to get back above .500.
