Nelly’s won a total last night and we had a good June in MLB in 2025!

Nelly’s Baseball

#918 Cincinnati Reds (Abbott) -120 over Kansas City Royals (Cameron) 6:10 PM CT

The Reds had to make a pitching swap last night and while the game went poorly with a 9-2 defeat, Brandon Leibrandt managed to cover six innings to keep the bullpen in good order for the rest of this series. The Reds went hitless with runners in scoring position last night, but Cincinnati is 9-4 this season vs. left-handed starters and over the past 10 games Cincinnati is batting .330 with 6.1 runs per nine vs. southpaw pitching. Kansas City is just 2-13 vs. left-handed starters on the season and just 8-20 in road games as backing up last night’s series opener win will be a challenge. Kansas City had scored a combined total of 14 runs over the team’s previous six games before last night’s breakthrough, that included a first inning two-out grand slam for an unlikely occurrence. Noah Cameron has posted rather average results this season in a big decline from his solid 2025 season as a rookie. His ERA is 4.61 in 10 starts compared to finishing with a 2.99 ERA last season. It is worth noting that his FIP is lower this season, but so is his HR/9. Cameron has a 5.57 road ERA this season and Cincinnati features what is generally a difficult ballpark for visiting pitchers. Kansas City is a bottom 10 team in MLB in producing home runs this season, while the Royals also take walks at a low rate and Andrew Abbott is a capable left-handed option for the Reds. He hasn’t matched his success of the past two seasons so far in 2026 overall but after a tough first month he owns a 1.59 ERA in his last six starts and he threw six scoreless innings in his last home start.
