#923/924 UNDER 8.5 San Francisco Giants (Wilkinson) at Boston Red Sox (Bennett) 2:10 PM CT

In the past 10 games San Francisco is batting .200 vs. left-handed pitching while Boston is batting .196 as Sunday’s lefty-lefty pairing should favor lower scoring results. Rookie Matt Wilkinson didn’t allow a run in his MLB debut and had a solid season line in AAA. Jake Bennett has a 3.46 ERA and a 3.28 FIP in just over 80 innings and 14 starts as a rookie starter for the Red Sox, being a big part of Boston’s rise back to playoff contention. Both teams have excellent 10-game bullpen splits with a 3.00 ERA for the Giants and a 2.95 ERA for the Red Sox. San Francisco has failed to top four runs in eight of the team’s past 10 games with the two exceptions both coming vs. the Rockies. Boston has had a few higher-scoring outcomes lately, but the first two games of this series featured 10 and five runs. Friday’s higher-scoring outcome only featured 10 combined at-bats with runners in scoring position but all 10 runs came with two outs including three home runs that accounted for six combined runs. Two runs were also scored on a walk and a HBP for unusual scoring outcomes. A weather disruption is possible at Fenway Park Sunday, but wind conditions should favor keeping the ball in the park with a solid breeze in from right field. Look for the scoring Sunday to resemble Saturday’s lower-scoring pace to complete this interleague series.
