• Both of these teams are very slow paced and love to run the ball so this should be a quick game with a lower than average number of possessions.  
• These 2 rank 123^rd and 129^th (out of 138 teams) in seconds per play and 121^st and 124^th in actual pace which filters out garbage time possessions.  
• Army runs the ball as much as anyone (51 carries per game – 2^nd in the country) with a rush rate that is 2^nd in the nation.  Temple averages 41 carries per game with a top 10 rush rate.  Very few passes will be in the air in this game which limits clock stoppage for incompletions.  
• Both are coming off higher scoring games with Temple falling @ Toledo 49-48 in OT and Army getting topped by South Florida 28-24 (2 weeks ago).  Because of those results, we’re getting some value here with the total at 48.5.  
• Last year’s total was 45.5 and the last 4 meetings between these teams had totals set at 46.5 or lower.  
• Last year’s game ended with Army winning 14-13 and neither team topped 270 total yards.  In that game there were only 112 offensive snaps and just 28 pass attempts.  
• Look for similar yardage and snap count numbers here and the early forecast in Philadelphia calls for gusty winds which would limit passing even more.  
• 48 points is the 2^nd most common “landed on” total and we’re sitting a half point to a point above that as of this writing.  Take the Under on Friday afternoon.
