#906 St. Louis Cardinals (Gray) +105 over Milwaukee Brewers (Misiorowski) 7:15 PM CT

Sonny Gray has a 4.43 ERA which would be his highest since his 2018 season with the Yankees. Gray has a 3.40 FIP however and still has a 5:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 30 starts. Gray has had some inconsistency in recent weeks, but he pitched well vs. the Brewers in his last start Saturday in Milwaukee and he has far stronger overall splits at Busch Stadium. St. Louis is 42-36 at home this season while Milwaukee is just 6-7 in the past four road series. A sweep this week of the Angels while the Cubs lost yesterday gives the Brewers a six-game division lead while also three games ahead of the Phillies in the overall NL race with just nine games to go, as the team’s final road trip starts tonight, without an off day. Jacob Misiorowski’s controversial All-Star selection looks even worse at this point as the lanky rookie right-hander has rather average numbers with a 4.35 season ERA. He has struggled considerably in his road starts with a 5.61 ERA in just over 25 innings and his overall ERA since his All-Star appearance is 5.50. The Cardinals scored four runs on him last weekend and this will be his first start at Busch Stadium. The Brewers have the best record in baseball and have been the superior lineup in comparing these teams, but the Cardinals do have the edge to start this series having an off day yesterday while Milwaukee used three top relievers to close out a 5-2 win Thursday. Milwaukee is just 3-3 in road starts from Misiorowski, and he has cleared six innings just once in his last eight starts, as this looks like a risky spot for the Brewers at this elevated road favorite price.
