#963 Texas Rangers (Otto) +150 over Boston Red Sox (Hill) 6:10 PM CT

Boston survived a tense ninth inning to escape with a 6-5 win in Minneapolis last night, getting a double play to end a scoring threat. The Red Sox had a 5-0 lead early in last night’s game looking to avoid a sweep and once again the bullpen was difficult to count on. The Red Sox have a 5.77 bullpen ERA in the past 10 games and while 42-year-old Rich Hill has decent season numbers, he does not often pitch deep into games. He is coming off his longest start of the season on Saturday but still has a 4.74 ERA since the All-Star break and a 5.54 ERA in his home innings. Texas had seven hits and three runs against him in May and the Rangers are batting .308 with 5.2 runs per nine vs. left-handed pitching in the past 10 games. Boston has been on a decent run at the plate as well, but the scoring hasn’t matched the batting average, batting .288 vs. right-handed pitching in the past 10 games but scoring only 3.6 runs per nine. Glenn Otto has a mediocre season line in 20 starts and nearly 100 innings for the Rangers. He has a 3.53 ERA on the road however and a 3.79 ERA since the All Star break as August was his best month of the season. The Rangers have a 3.58 bullpen ERA in the past 10 games and Texas has 30 road wins this season while Boston has 31 home wins. After back-to-back losses against Houston this should be a much more favorable opportunity for the Rangers while catching a similar underdog price vs. a losing Red Sox team as they faced the past two days vs. the American League leader.
