Free Pick Saturday #513 New York Knicks +5.5 over Los Angeles Clippers 3:10 PM CT

The nine-game winning streak for the Knicks ended Tuesday, two days after an epic Sunday night double-overtime win in Boston. The Knicks faced a tough turnaround heading out west and got caught 122-117 Thursday in Sacramento in a very competitive game. The Kings shot 11 percent better overall and the Knicks shot just 26 percent from 3-point range and still were in a one-possession game late. At 39-29 the Knicks are emerging as a serious Eastern Conference threat and over the past 15 games New York trails only Cleveland and Milwaukee in net efficiency. The Clippers have been a below average team in that span and are just 2-5 S/U since the All-Star break. The wins came narrowly at home vs. a short-handed Memphis team last weekend and Wednesday hosting Toronto, winning by eight despite a 55%-39% field goal edge and a 31-14 edge in free throw attempts in the game where Fred VanVleet accepted a fine for a chance to call out the officials in a truly lopsided second half outcome. Los Angeles is only 17-15 S/U at home and the Knicks will be looking to avenge an overtime loss in New York about a month ago. New York is 20-13-1 ATS when dogged by fewer than seven points this season and New York is 22-11 ATS on the road. Jalen Brunson remains out but the backcourt for the Knicks continues to play well and only once in the past 21 games has New York lost by double-digits as another competitive effort is very likely.
