#628 LaSalle +6.5 over UMass 1:00 PM CT

Fran Dunphy’s LaSalle squad sits at the bottom of the A-10 with a 2-10 conference record. The league path has been difficult as four of five home losses in conference play have come against the upper tier teams in the league while so far the Explorers have played seven of 12 league games on the road. LaSalle takes good care of the ball and is a decent long range shooting team. In the first meeting of the season LaSalle lost to Massachusetts 81-65 but Anwar Gill did not play in that game. LaSalle missed nine of 15 free throw attempts in that contest as well, a game that was a second straight road game to start the A-10 season. UMass just beat Richmond on the road Wednesday in a significant result that is the best result of the season so far for the Minutemen. Everything went right for UMass in that game with an edge at the line and very poor shooting from Richmond. The Minutemen had 14 turnovers in that game and turnovers and poor 3-point shooting stand out on the overall profile. UMass is up to 7-5 in A-10 play but two of the past three wins have come by one and two points respectively. UMass is just 2-4 S/U in conference road games and Frank Martin’s team has faced one of the weaker A-10 paths so far, yet to face VCU or Davidson. LaSalle was a four-point favorite in an 86-72 home win in this series a year ago and UMass was only -8.5 hosting the Explorers in January as this line is inflated for the Minutemen off a huge win on Wednesday while still just 2-4 ATS in the past six games.
