#907 Arizona Diamondbacks (Bratt) +105 over St. Louis Cardinals (Liberatore) 6:45 PM CT
Arizona and St. Louis have split one-run results the past two days. Wednesday’s pairing is a lefty-lefty draw on the mound, and both teams have good season records vs. southpaw starters. Overall, the Arizona offense has been stronger this season vs. lefties, scoring 5.2 runs per nine while Arizona is 14-6 vs. left-handed starters. The edge is even more dramatic in the past five games with the Diamondbacks scoring 6.0 runs per nine while batting .270. Matthew Liberatore has a 5.23 season ERA for St. Louis in 15 starts and he has allowed at least three runs in six of his last seven starts while holding a 10.45 ERA in June. This will be the MLB debut for Mitch Bratt, but the 2021 Rangers draft pick has proven deserving of the call-up. He has a 2.84 ERA in over 44 innings in AAA this season and his command has been consistently excellent in his minor league climb. The Cardinals have failed to top three runs five times in the past eight games as well. Arizona had a 13-8 edge in at-bats with runners in scoring position in last night’s win and the Diamondbacks had more hits in Monday’s narrow loss in this series but went 0-8 with runners in scoring position. Bratt has the credentials to have a smooth MLB debut while Liberatore is proven as a below average option on the mound.
