Don’t miss Sunday’s MLB 7* TOP PLAY – 8-1-1 and 19-7-1 runs alive in MLB for another huge August!
#971/972 UNDER 7.5 Los Angeles Dodgers (Glasnow) at Detroit Tigers (Valdez) 1:40 PM CT
These teams have split 2-1 results over the past two days and scoring could stay down Sunday afternoon in Detroit with a crosswind and a chance of rain in the forecast. Despite the loaded lineup, the Dodgers have scored four or fewer runs in six of the past seven games with a total output of just 19 runs in that span. In the past five games Los Angeles is batting .234 with 1.6 runs per nine vs. left-handers but Detroit has hit .118 with 0.4 runs per nine vs. right-handers for even worse splits. Tyler Glasnow has only made eight starts this season but his first start back from a long IL stint was a solid result, and his career track record when healthy remains impressive. Framber Valdez hasn’t matched his results from the past few seasons in his first season with the Tigers, but he remains a capable starting option and owns a 3.72 ERA since late July. Detroit may not provide much run support however as the Tigers have failed to top three runs in eight of the past 10 games as the wild card race surge for Detroit early in August has faded. Look for another pitching Sunday as both sides also have great recent bullpen results with a 2.20 ERA from the Dodgers for the past five games while Detroit has a 1.02 ERA with opponents batting .164 over the past five games from relievers.
