#903/904 UNDER Los Angeles Dodgers (Snell) at Cincinnati Reds (Abbott) 6:40 PM ET
The Dodgers have only hit .196 in the past 10 games vs. left-handed pitching as Andrew Abbott has a chance to have a successful start this afternoon as the Reds look to avoid suffering a season sweep vs. Los Angeles sitting down 5-0 with two games to play. The Dodgers have won 4-1 and 4-0 in the past two days and on the current road trip Los Angeles has topped four runs just once in five games. Abbott had great numbers last season for the Reds, but he has been worse across the board this season with much higher walk and home run rates, swelling his ERA to 4.78, almost two runs above last season’s average. Abbott has been hit hard in recent road starts vs. playoff caliber teams but he has allowed three or fewer runs in all four home starts that he has made since the All-Star Break. Cincinnati has scored three or fewer runs in six of the team’s past eight games and Blake Snell is a very tough matchup for a struggling lineup. Snell has only made seven starts this season, but the numbers are incredible with a 12.2 K/9 and a 1.75 FIP. Snell is yet to allow a home run, and he appears to be in fine form for another postseason run. It will be relatively warm in Cincinnati tonight but with little wind in play. The five-game splits offer a poor outlook for both lineups with the Dodgers batting .204 and the Reds batting .193 as a third straight lower-scoring contest is likely Wednesday night.
