#977/978 OVER 9 Milwaukee Brewers (Drohan) at Los Angeles Angels (Johnson) 8:38 PM CT
Ryan Johnson has a 7.34 ERA in just over 41 innings of work this season for the Angels with home runs being a big problem, having allowed 11 this season. Johnson draws a Brewers lineup that doesn’t give away at-bats Friday night, and Milwaukee is going to be motivated coming off an off-day and a blowout loss on Wednesday. Shane Drohan had his start pushed back to Friday and there is a lot to like about what the left-hander has accomplished as a 27-year-old rookie. Drohan has a 3.01 FIP and a 9.0 K/9 but he has also allowed three or more runs in each of his last four starts as things may be shifting after some early success at the big league level. The Angels hit lefties effectively averaging 4.9 runs per nine this season and both teams have terrible recent bullpen results. The Brewers have a 7.79 bullpen ERA with a 2.02 WHIP in the past five games. The Angels have a respectable 4.12 ERA in that span but with a 1.53 WHIP. The Angeles have allowed six or more runs in four of the past six games and Milwaukee is capable of big innings. Anaheim will feature a wind blowing out to center field tonight and the ‘over’ looks promising in this interleague clash Friday.
