#951/952 UNDER 8 Colorado Rockies (Marquez) at Miami Marlins (Meyer) 5:40 PM CT

German Marquez has been a fixture in the Colorado rotation for almost a decade though he has pitched minimally the past two seasons. His comeback campaign in 2025 has produced a 1-7 record with a 7.13 ERA for brutal results pitching for a historically bad Rockies team. Marquez has a respectable 4.15 FIP however and he has kept the ball in the ballpark surrendering only four home runs. Three of his last four starts have been quite good outings with quality starts as Marquez has a good chance to provide a decent outcome Monday against a Marlins lineup that has the fifth fewest home runs in baseball. Miami is 4-4 in the past eight games with the pitching staff allowing four or fewer runs in six of those games. Max Meyer has a 9.6 K/9 as the 1st Round pick from 20220 has great potential. In 11 starts this season he has allowed four or fewer earned runs eight times and has been very good in his home innings with a 3.48 ERA. The bullpen results on both sides have also been excellent in recent games as Colorado has a 2.65 relief ERA with a 1.15 WHIP in the past 10 games while Miami’s bullpen has a 1.60 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP in that span. Colorado has lost eight games in a row heading into this series, facing a third consecutive road series and the Rockies have not topped four runs in any game on the slide. The pitching staff has allowed more than five runs in only two of the past 10 games, however, for decent recent results. Miami and San Francisco managed a combined total of nine runs over three games in the last series for Miami at home and the Marlins have scored two or fewer runs in five consecutive home games. Look for both pitchers to deliver results better than their conventional numbers to open this series Monday night.
