Free Pick Saturday: #959 Philadelphia Phillies (Suarez) -145 over Colorado Rockies (Feltner) 7:10 PM CT

The Phillies are just a .500 team approaching mid-May but since a terrible start to the season, Philadelphia is 14-9 and this is one of the better hitting teams in the NL even while rarely offering their full complement of stars this season. Philadelphia has won four straight games while scoring four or more runs six times in the past nine games and few teams have been better vs. right-handers, batting .269 with 5.1 runs per nine vs. right-handed pitching. The Rockies are a disappointing 16-23 this season while only 7-10 at home, even with the team’s best run of play in the past two weeks. Philadelphia has won nine of the past 10 meetings between these teams including getting a win last night even while out-hit. The Philadelphia bullpen has a 1.04 ERA in the past five games and Ranger Suarez can be counted on for a solid outing in Denver. This will be his first start of the season, but he has delivered back-to-back consistent seasons of success for the team, and he has not allowed a run at Coors Field in his career. Ryan Feltner has a 5.08 ERA in seven starts and walks have been a big issue with 21 surrendered in just over 33 innings. He did pitch well for a win in Philadelphia in April but his numbers this season include only two home starts where he owns a career ERA of 6.34.
