Nelly’s is coming off a 5-0 NFL Week 2 while we also won yesterday in MLB action for an 18-10 run in our last 28 on the diamond. We are on a 6-1 run in our last seven MLB 7* top plays and a rare late season 7* is set for Tuesday night!

#917 Cleveland Guardians (Allen) -155 over Kansas City Royals (Cruz) 6:40 PM CT

Cleveland had an eighth-inning meltdown yesterday as a 4-2 lead was erased with two outs, as Kansas City scored four runs with only one hit thanks to three walks and a hit batsman jamming the bases. The Guardians had a 9-6 edge in hits and an 11-6 edge in at-bats with runners in scoring position. Still not yet officially eliminated in the AL Central race, Cleveland is 11-10 in the past 21 games and the offense has shown improved results with 98 runs in those games for an average of nearly 4.7 runs per game. In the past 10 games the Royals are batting just .171 with 2.7 runs per nine vs. left-handers and Logan Allen has delivered a solid rookie season for Cleveland with a 3.60 ERA in 23 starts. Allen has a 3.23 ERA on the road and in his last two starts he has allowed just two runs combined while striking out 11. He also did not allow a run in a short start at Kauffman Stadium back in June. This will be just the second MLB start for Steven Cruz who has a 5.14 ERA in seven career MLB innings. Cruz had a 6.88 ERA at AAA and he isn’t stretched out to be much more than an extended opener, having pitching two innings on Wednesday last week in his first ever MLB start. That means a lot of outs for a Kansas City bullpen that has a 5.21 ERA for the season and a 4.91 ERA in the past 10 games. The Royals used three relievers yesterday and are still playing without veteran Salvador Perez to handle the young pitching staff. Kansas City has won five of the past six games but four of those wins came by two runs or fewer and Kansas City has allowed four or more runs in 10 of the past 12 games, a pace the offense won’t be able to keep up with over time. Kansas City is 11-26 vs. left-handed starters this season and just 29-47 at home as the Guardians should be able to make amends for yesterday’s collapse behind Allen on Tuesday night.
