#765 Tennessee Tech +1 over Little Rock 5:00 PM CT

Tennessee Tech has lost back-to-back games in OVC play to fall to 1-2. This is the team’s first road game of the season in conference play, but the Golden Eagles were tested through a road-heavy non-conference path and picked up two road wins. John Pelfrey has been with the program since 2019-20 and a second straight season of improvement looks possible. This year’s team has improved offensive results and is Pelfrey’s best interior shooting team since 2020-21. The Golden Eagles have been a good free throw shooting team and are winning inside the paint defensively so far this season. At this point the 6-8 Golden Eagles have allowed 40 percent on 3-point shots but facing a pair of SEC teams in non-conference play weighs on those numbers. Moving forward in OVC play Tennessee Tech should be capable of providing improved numbers. Little Rock is 1-1 in OVC play and picked up a non-conference win Monday playing outside of Division I, tough beating Williams Baptist by 14 at home wasn’t overly encouraging. Turnovers have been a huge problem for the Trojans on offense while this is just a 60 percent free throw shooting team. Little Rock also has one of the worst effective field goal rates on defense in the nation at greater than 59 percent. Little Rock won both games in this series last season in close finishes as this should be a highly anticipated game for Tennessee Tech. So far it appears that the Trojans are headed towards a season of decline with far worse numbers than last season in a 4-9 start and no top 300 wins yet this season.
