Free Pick Wednesday: #692 Florida +3 over Kentucky 6:00 PM CT

A huge win over Tennessee on Saturday may have put Kentucky back on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble but the remaining schedule for the Wildcats is difficult. Kentucky has gone 4-3 in SEC road games, but three of four wins have come by single-digit margins in close games. Kentucky won at Rupp hosting Florida a few weeks ago 72-67 in what was a wire-to-wire win but also a game with some statistical outliers as Kentucky shot 46 percent from 3-point range. Rebounding could again be an edge for Kentucky in this pairing, but Florida is a successful interior scoring team and has been a significantly stronger defensive team with Kentucky ninth in defensive efficiency in the SEC. Kentucky was only -4.5 at home as this is a minimal adjustment for a game taking place just over two weeks later now in Gainesville where Florida is 9-4 S/U. Both teams are shorthanded right now with Colin Castleton a very notable absence for Florida but Kentucky is without CJ Fredrick and Sahvir Wheeler. Castleton had 25 points in the first meeting, but Fredrick and Wheeler combined for 20 in the win vs. Florida and the outside shooting options will be limited with only Antonio Reeves reliable from long range for the Wildcats. Florida held Oscar Tshiebwe to just four points in that first meeting and while Castleton played a big role in that result, Florida has good size among reserves. Florida lost badly Saturday at Arkansas but should look stronger at home and Kentucky’s overall profile still offers significant concern to question this road favorite price.
