Nelly’s Basketball is on a 15-4 run in Wednesday college picks – check out tonight’s 2-for-1

Free Pick Wednesday: #678 George Washington +1 over Richmond 6:00 PM CT

George Washington has slipped from 5-2 to 5-5 in A-10 play with three losses in a row. The Colonels hit rock bottom Saturday with a blowout loss at home to Duquesne by 26 points. That was an outlier performance and while George Washington hasn’t had a perfect home court edge, this is typically a strong scoring team and one of the top interior field goal rate teams in the nation, let alone the A-10. Richmond could be in a big of a flat spot after a run of a prominent games and finally snapping a four-game slide of its own on Sunday. The Spiders are only 1-4 S/U in A-10 road games and while Richmond won by 10 hosting George Washington earlier this season that was a close game in which Richmond trailed at halftime. Richmond had a 27-9 edge in free throw attempts while posting 21 percent edge from 3-point range and still only won by a modest margin. George Washington is 9-4 S/U at home while Richmond has gone just 1-7 S/U in road games this season as the Spiders may be at risk tonight even while holding a six-game winning streak in this series. Turnovers numbers are a concern for George Washington but Richmond is not a strong team creating extra chances defensively.
