Free Pick: #466 Atlanta Falcons -2.5 over Chicago Bears 12:00 PM CT

Expectations were grounded for both teams heading into the season, expected to be among the NFC’s worst teams. Atlanta has slipped to 4-6 after briefly leading the NFC South while Chicago is technically the NFC’s worst team, losing the tiebreakers between three 3-7 squads. These teams have been interesting and exciting however and quite competitive with Atlanta just -18 in net scoring and Chicago just -30. Justin Fields has posted fantasy MVP numbers the past three games but ultimately it has been in three losing efforts, with the past two losses by a combined four points. The Falcons falling short last week at Carolina was likely the end of any realistic playoff dreams for Atlanta, but the Falcons are 3-2 S/U at home including the big win over San Francisco. Atlanta has been outgained in nine consecutive games and is now on an 0-4 ATS run after being an early season ATS darling starting 6-0, but that could shift back in this pairing with Chicago getting a lot of interest with the success of Fields in recent weeks, pushing this price below three points. Chicago has still lost six of the past seven games and only one of seven losses this season came by fewer than three points, last week’s loss at home to Detroit. Atlanta’s two home losses came by one-point and three points vs. quality teams with blown fourth quarter leads as Atlanta isn’t far from being 5-0 at home on the season. The injury report for Atlanta particularly on defense looks better than it has in recent weeks while Chicago appears likely to be missing starters on the offensive and defensive lines. While Fields is getting a lot of attention, Marcus Mariota has been better than fields in QBR and QB Rating, a top 10 QBR quarterback this season and has a much stronger completion rate and a lower interception rate while taking 10 fewer sacks compared with Fields.
