#253 Cleveland Browns -2 over NY Jets 12:00 PM CT

The Browns have won three of the past five games in this series with a win in New Jersey back in 2019. The 1-7 Jets surprisingly have been favored twice this season, going 0-2 S/U in home losses to Dallas and Carolina in October with the Jets 9-18-1 ATS as a favorite since 2019 losing S/U in 16 of those 28 games. Both teams had byes last week and were sellers at the trade deadline. Cleveland also made the move to have Tommy Rees take over play calling from Kevin Stefanski. Teams with a winning percentage of .250 or worse in Game #9 or later are 25-17-1 ATS as road favorites as well a team of Cleveland’s record being favored looks out of place, there is generally a good reason to make that number. Cleveland remains an elite defensive team, sixth in the NFL allowing just 4.8 yards per play. The Jets had a collection of talent on defense but have still allowing 5.5 yards per play this season and just traded away their higher profile defender for draft capital. The Jets have allowed a 105.7 QB Rating this season, fifth highest in the NFL as Cleveland’s offense should have a path to success. The Jets have the worst turnover rate in the NFL this season. The Jets have also struggled in run defense allowing 136 yards per game as the Browns can offer a balanced attack to break the poor recent road history for the franchise.
