Free Pick Sunday: #275 New England Patriots -2.5 over Pittsburgh Steelers 12:00 PM CT

This will be a pairing of the two of the longest tenured coaches in the league with Bill Belichick 8-3 S/U vs. Mike Tomlin. Pittsburgh is in the win column this season while Belichick is not. The Steelers won in overtime in a wild contest with Cincinnati. Pittsburgh was soundly outgained and +5 in turnovers despite being a missed PAT away from taking the loss. The injury count was high for the Steelers as well headlined by T.J. Watt and it was an exhausting marathon of a game going nearly the full length of overtime with Cincinnati’s offense running 94 plays against the Pittsburgh defense. The Patriots had one of the worst performances of Week 1 scoring just one touchdown while held to 271 total yards in a loss at Miami. Mac Jones was dealing with a back injury after the game as well as New England faces a second straight road game to start the season. All reports on Jones look positive and it is possible that Miami is the elite AFC threat that some have projected this summer with a big upgrade to the roster headlined by Tyreek Hill. The Patriots have not started 0-2 since 2001, Belichick’s second season in New England, though they of course went on to win the Super Bowl that season. Belichick is as good as it gets in making adjustments to Week 2 with a 14-8 S/U and ATS mark in the second game of the season including going 11-5 ATS when on the road. The Patriots are also famously 68-30 S/U and 61-37 ATS off a S/U loss under Belichick and his track record is worth trusting in what looks like a perilous spot for the Steelers coming off a fortunate division upset last week.
