#521 Sacramento Kings +13.5 over Los Angeles Lakers 8:40 PM CT

The Kings have been a miserable performer this season, but Sacramento is 5-4 ATS in the past nine games as a double-digit underdog. The Kings have two S/U wins on this road trip and have enjoyed two days off ahead of a high-profile game with the Lakers that should bring out a solid effort even with a dysfunctional franchise trajectory and an incomplete roster. The Lakers delivered a 129-101 win over the Warriors on Saturday for a big result to break a three-game slide, putting Los Angeles at 35-24 for the season ahead of a favorable week in the schedule, hosting the Kings, Pelicans, and Pacers, though with a trip to Denver on Thursday. The Lakers have had a run of five straight high-profile games since the All-Star Break as this is likely not a game that will bring out the best in the team. This is set to be the second largest favorite spread for the Lakers at home this season, with only a missed cover vs. the Pelicans in November closing at a larger figure. The Kings beat the Lakers in mid-January at home and are 10 games above .500 ATS in road games in this series going back to 1990-91 including a 7-4 ATS mark in Los Angeles since 2019-20. The Kings have not been this large of an underdog in Los Angeles since December 2008, and this is a third game in four days for the Lakers. With a comfortable lead the Lakers did spread its minutes out yesterday, but Rai Hachimura is a question mark after not playing Saturday. Supporting the Kings and a 5-27 S/U road record is an uncomfortable proposition, but this is a very rare price in a division series with the Kings in a far more favorable scheduling turnaround.
