#921/922 OVER 7 Athletics (Jump) at Seattle Mariners (Woo) 3:10 PM CT

These AL West rivals have combined for 11, 13, and 8 runs the past three days and eight of nine meetings on the season have reached at least seven runs. The Athletics have posted 7.4 runs per nine while batting .330 in the past five games vs. right-handed pitching. Seattle has struggled vs. left-handers but rookie Gage Jump has allowed 45 walks in fewer than 93 innings this season, while allowing more hits than innings pitched. His ERA has climbed to 5.15 and he has allowed at last two runs in five straight starts for a 6.58 ERA since early August. Bryan Woo has not matched his strong results from the past two seasons with the Mariners. His groundball rate is below 37 percent for a career low and his K/9 is down and his BB/9 is up compared to lats season. In three of his last seven starts he has allowed five or more runs including his last home start, even while Woo has a strong season line at home. The Seattle bullpen has a 5.59 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP in the past 10 games as Mariners pitching has allowed six or more runs in seven of the team’s past 10 games. Now six games out of the final wild card spot, Seattle isn’t going to focus on its top pitching matchups down the stretch while the Athletics have a very capable offense that is in a groove with four straight wins and at least five runs in six of the past seven games.
