#507 Miami Heat +6 over San Antonio Spurs 7:40 PM CT
Miami has rallied for three straight wins since losing the season opener in Orlando. The Heat have one of the best scoring differentials in the league at this point in the season as the offense has thrived even while Tyler Herro remains out of action for several more weeks. Miami already has a road win this season as they head out on a four-game road trip starting in San Antonio tonight. Since late March last season, the Heat are on a 6-1 ATS run in the road underdog role and Miami has dominated the recent history of this series with a 12-2 S/U and 10-4 ATS run since the start of the 2018-19 season, including five consecutive S/U wins at Frost Bank Center. There is excitement in San Antonio in Victor Wembanyama’s third season with hopes for the Spurs to jump back into the playoffs. So far Wembanyama and the Spurs have not disappointed, with a 4-0 start to the season. The opening win was a blowout at Dallas but the three wins since have come vs. marginal competition with wins over the Pelicans, Nets, and Raptors a trio of teams that did not make the playoffs last season and don’t have high expectations this season. One of those wins was an overtime result and while the Spurs have been off Tuesday and Wednesday, this could be the toughest draw San Antonio has faced so far this season. De’Aaron Fox remains out while this is a roster working through the new addition of Dylan Harper alongside the past two NBA rookie of the years with Wembanyama and Stephon Castle for a very young core of players. Miami was a three-point favorite in a narrow win last February in San Antonio in the last meeting between these teams. Norman Powell is unlikely to play tonight while Nikola Jovic is also a question mark, but Jaime Jaquez has proven he can pick up the scoring load alongside veterans Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins.
