#571 Sacramento Kings +1.5 over Miami Heat 6:40 PM CT

The defending Eastern Conference champions have lost seven consecutive games with an alarming run the past two weeks. Duncan Robinson is out, and several key players have missed time on the losing streak, but Jimmy Butler has been there the past eight games and shooting well above his season averages. The addition of Terry Rozier hasn’t panned out so far and the offense however has been among the worst in the NBA in the past 10 games while the once formidable defense has merely average numbers in that run. It has been a difficult schedule with losses to Boston, New York, and Phoenix the past three games but those three defeats have come by a combined 62 points. The Kings have won three straight on this road trip and are performing at a high level on offense, with Sacramento climbing to the #5 position in the Western Conference at 27-18. The Kings have 13 road wins while Miami is only 12-11 S/U at home this season. The Heat have struggled vs. quality competition with a 2-11 record vs. the NBA’s top 10 teams while 6-15 vs. the top 16 as the marginal record with the Heat now just a game above .500 has come through the league’s #26 rated schedule. These teams haven’t played since November 2022 and this is a long trip in a fourth straight road game for the Kings, but the roster is in good shape minus reserve Sasha Vezenkov with an ankle injury, and the Kings are on an excellent run since late December, going 10-6 S/U with several of those losses by very slim margins, including losing by one in overtime at Milwaukee, and by two at Phoenix. We’ll go with the masses and ride the streaks tonight as the early line shift on this game could shift back by tipoff and a bounce-back for the Heat may have to wait until Friday’s game with Washington. Thank you for playing with Nelly’s and Best of Luck. Nelly’s went 3-0 last night and we’ve won six in a row in the NBA while riding a 55-30 long term NBA run since early May.
