#903 NY Mets (Peralta) +105 over Miami Marlins (Meyer) 3:10 PM CT

The Mets remain in last place in the NL East as a huge disappointment given the off-season moves and payroll. Freddy Peralta was one of the big acquisitions for New York and he has done his job with a 3.31 ERA and an 8.9 K/9 in 10 starts. He has pitched significantly better in his road innings as well. The Mets and Marlins have both enjoyed decent bullpen results this season but the recent splits favor New York with a 2.37 ERA in the past 10 games. Miami held on for a 2-1 win to open this series last night, but the Marlins used more relievers in a game that featured only eight combined hits. Miami is just 4-7 since May 12 and the offense has topped four runs just three times in the past 11 games. The recent splits for the lineups favor the Mets vs. right-handers with New York batting .254 with 5.5 runs per nine in the past five games compared to the Marlins batting .150 with 3.9 runs per nine. Max Meyer is emerging as a frontline starter for the Marlins with a 4-0 start and a 2.85 ERA in 10 starts in 2026. Meyer has only two quality starts all season, however as his innings have been kept in check. Home runs have been an issue for Meyer in the first three seasons of his career at the MLB level, but he has a HR/9 of 0.67 this season, compared to a career average of 1.59. That is a major red flag and since the long losing streak in April, the Mets have rebounded including an 11-7 run since May 3.
