Free Pick #770 Kansas -10 over Seton Hall 8:00 PM CT

Kansas has endured several close games to get to 7-1 but it has been an early season gauntlet already having faced four top 50 teams. Kansas is 3-1 in those games including the big win over Duke in Indianapolis while posting wins over solid ACC and Big Ten teams in the Bahamas before running out of gas on the third consecutive game after an overtime win, falling to Tennessee. Kansas still holds one of the top home courts in the nation and the defensive efficiency so far this season through a top 100 caliber schedule is stronger than last season’s national championship squad posted. Gradey Dick has been a high impact freshman while Jalen Wilson and Dajuan Harris have smoothly stepped into prominent roles. Kevin McCullar is a question mark tonight after missing the last game to keep this line in check but Seton Hall in a major transition season has displayed great inconsistency. Shaheen Holloway landed this job after taking St. Peter’s to the Elite 8 last season but the roster has turned over quite a bit and this year’s Pirates team will be a work in progress. Seton Hall lost to Siena on Sunday in Florida tournament action as while the event started with a big win over Memphis, the Pirates lost badly to Oklahoma in the follow-up before the upset loss on Sunday. Seton Hall has two double-digit losses in its three top 50 games this season also losing to Iowa in mid-November at home by 16 points. Turnovers have been a big problem for the offense that could materialize against a highly regarded defense while the current 25 percent 3-point shooting rate against the Pirates isn’t sustainable. Seton Hall has really struggled with interior scoring and free throw shooting as Kansas has a good chance to pull away in this contest. The Jayhawks played four games against Big East teams last season and won them all including a 20-point non-conference win over St. John’s and a 16-point win in the Final Four over Villanova. The best number on this game is gone at this point but at 10 or less KU may still be worth a look tonight.
